Minutes for FECC meeting, Friday October 29, 2004, 1:00 p.m. in room 2E10 of the Memorial Student Center
Members Present: Janet Dooley, Shirley Lumpkin, Lawrence P. Shao, Michael Castellani, Barbara Loebach, Kay Wildman, Caroline Perkins, Venkat Gudivada, Michael Cornfeld, Don Van Horn
Ex-officio members present: Sarah Denman, Elaine Baker, Mike McGuffey, Jim Sottile
1. The Committee went over and made changes in the document (SR-04-05-(03) 60 FECAHC).
2. The Chair will send out the finally revised document with strike-outs and additions to the faculty. The Chair will send a clean document to Faculty Senate office, having the document on Bernice Bullock’s desk in time for the Executive Committee meeting of November 8, 2004.
3. Nursing and Social Work are covered by the policy recommended in the document.
The Medical School Basic Science Faculty, including Forensic Science and the clinical faculty are exempt from the policy.
4. At the next meeting, with figures from Mike McGuffey, the committee will examine the results of the salary distribution of the last year.
5. The process for recommending adoption of a new student rating form was discussed. It was recommended that the Faculty Senate Chair look up previous Faculty Senate recommendations about student rating forms.
6. The committee briefly discussed the action to take if the recommendation fails to pass the Faculty Senate on November 18, 2004. The Committee decided its work was done on the recommendation after November 18, 2004.
7. The next meeting was set for Thursday November 11, 2004, 1:00 p.m. in the Memorial Student Center, room 2E10.
