Fire Fighter. Served as a member of the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department Spring 2003—Present.

Finance Committee. Served as a member of the finance committee for American Red Cross – Western West Virginia Chapter, Fall 2001 to current. This committee meets regularly to review all financial records submitted by committees for the church.

Finance Committee. Served as a member of the finance committee for Highlawn Baptist Church of Huntington, Fall 2002 to current. This committee meets regularly to review all financial records submitted by committees for the church.

Auditing Committee. Served as a member of the auditing committee for Highlawn Baptist Church of Huntington, Spring 2001 to Fall 2002. This committee meets regularly to review all financial records approved by the finance committee for the church.

Shelter Volunteer. Served as a volunteer for Huntington City Missions, Fall 2000 - present. This position involved providing food, encouragement and spiritual counseling to homeless and indigent people in the local community area.

University-Wide

Faculty Evaluation and Compensation Committee. Member of the faculty evaluation and compensation committee at Marshall University. This committee is responsible for developing a comprehensive faculty evaluation system. It is also responsible for developing a faculty compensation system that is based on a merit-based pay policy.

Electronic Course Committee. Member of the electronic course committee at Marshall University. This committee is responsible for evaluating, monitoring and approving all electronic courses that are used throughout the university system.

College-Wide

Lewis College of Business Intellectual Contribution Committee Member. Served on the intellectual contribution committee for the college of business at Marshall Univeristy, Fall 2002 to present. This committee performed many functions such as verifying and evaluating scholarly output of divisional faculty.

Lewis College of Business Executive Committee Member. Served on the executive committed for the college of business at Marshall Univeristy, Fall 2000 to present. This committee performed many functions such as strategic planning, curriculum changes, internship program, and related activities to COB faculty.

Outstanding Paper Award, awarded in recognition of excellence in research as determined by peer evaluation, Association for Global Business, fall 2003.

Outstanding College of Business Professor of the Semester Nominee, nominated as one of the top professors in the college as voted on by the students, Lewis College of Business at Marshall University for fall 2002.

University Merit Award, awarded for outstanding contributions toward fulfilling the LCOB mission, Lewis College of Business at Marshall University for 2001-2002.
