SR-06-07-01 IS Approved Recommends approval of the listed CURRICULUM ACTION REQUESTS from the following colleges and/or schools: SCHOOL OF EXTENDED EDUCATION, REGENTS BACHELOR OF ARTS PROGRAM - Change in name and curriculum for RBA Business Emphasis, Area of Emphasis to Organizational Studies Emphasis for Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Degree Program and Addition of a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS).
SR-06-07-02 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE ADDITIONS in the following colleges and/or schools: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION & HUMAN SERVICES: CISP 422; COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: ENG 426, HST 313.
SR-06-07-03 BAPC Approved Recommends that the University adopt the Academic Calendar 2007-2008 and the Academic Calendar 2008-2009 in which the Thanksgiving/Fall Break remains extended to five (5) days.
SR-06-07-04 UFC Approved CONFIDENTIAL Recommends that the following individuals be added to the lists for consideration as both commencement speaker and/or recipient of an honorary degree.
SR-06-07-05 FECRAHC Approved Recommends that faculty members receive a copy of their final Overall Composite Rating (OCR) calculated score with corresponding signatures (faculty member, chair, and dean) by the date the document is forwarded to the office of the Provost. Should any changes in the faculty member's OCR calculated score occur beyond that time period at any subsequent review levels, written documentation will be returned to the faculty member within 10 business days after the change. No change in any faculty members OCR calculated score may occur after the final day of the Spring semester of the academic year in which the document was completed.
SR-06-07-06 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed CURRICULUM ACTION REQUESTS from the following colleges and/or schools: COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: Addition of a certificate program in Appalachian Studies; Addition of a certificate program in Latin American Studies: COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS and THE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATIONS: Addition of an area of emphasis within an existing major, Administrative Communication within the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree.
SR-06-07-07 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE ADDITIONS in the COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: CMM 404, HST 305, HST 438.
SR-06-07-08 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE CHANGES for the COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: ENG 303, HST 314, HST 350, HST 411, HST 424.
SR-06-07-09 AC Disapproved The Athletic Committee recommends in relation to actions requested in the East Carolina University Resolution on Practical Measures to Reduce the Class Days Missed Due to Athletic Competition that: The Marshall University Faculty Senate requests that the Athletic Director and University President work with other Conference USA members to take all practical measures to reduce the class days missed due to athletic competition. Conference-USA initiates and completes a study that applies standardized measures to determine the extent of this issue across the conference (with regard to team GPA). Conference-USA eliminates scheduling of mid-week conference contests whenever practical. Conference-USA creates Conference tournament schedules that minimize conflict with the primary academic mission of the conference members.
SR-06-07-10 FPC Disapproved Recommends the establishment of the position of Faculty Ombudsperson.
SR-06-07-11 FPC Returned to Committee The Marshall University Faculty Personnel Committee recommends the creation of "Senior" level designations within Professor and Associate Professor ranks.
SR-06-07-11R FPC  Returned to Committee Recommends creating a Senior Level for Professor rank at Marshall University.
SR-06-07-12 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE ADDITIONS in the COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: GEO 230, GEO 350, GEO 360, GEO 406.
SR-06-07-13 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed CURRICULUM ACTION REQUEST from the SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATIONS: Name change of major from Electronic Media Management to Radio & Television Production and Management.
SR-06-07-14 APC Approved Recommends that the College of Education and Human Services' Intent-To-Plan statement for a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education be approved.
SR-06-07-15 APC Approved Recommends that the following academic programs be continued at their current level of activity: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Safety Technology, Geology and a Bachelor of Arts in Geology.
SR-06-07-16 APC Disapproved Recommends that the following academic program be continued at its current level of activity: Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science.
SR-06-07-17 UFC Approved Recommends that the honor of serving as Chief Marshal and Assistant Chief Marshal would be rotated and staggered among the colleges. Both a Chief Marshal and an Assistant Chief Marshal will be elected in the first year and a new Assistant Chief Marshal would be chosen every two years thereafter. The Assistant Chief Marshal would rotate into the position of Chief Marshal every two years. The professors who are given the honor of serving as Chief Marshal and Assistant Chief Marshal would be elected by the faculty of the respective college.
SR-06-07-18 UFC Approved Recommends that the honor of serving as Chief Usher and Assistant Chief Usher would be rotated and staggered among the colleges by alphabetical order and a new Chief Usher and Assistant Chief Usher would be chosen every four years. The Assistant Chief Usher would rotate into the position of Chief Usher every two years. The professors who are given the honor of serving as Chief Usher and Assistant Chief Usher would be elected by the faculty of the respective college.
SR-06-07-19 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed CURRICULUM ACTION REQUEST from the COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING: Addition of an Area of Emphasis in Occupational Loss Prevention.
SR-06-07-20 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE ADDITIONS in the following colleges and/or schools: COLLEGE OF EDUCATION & HUMAN SERVICES: ECE 324 and the COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: HST 265, HST 306, HST 347, HT 441, HST 443.
SR-06-07-21 FDC Returned to Committee Recommends that the following changes (on file in the Faculty Senate office) be made for nomination for the Pickens-Queen, Reynolds, and Hedrick faculty awards as submitted by the selection committees for these teaching awards; by the committee chairpersons, by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning, by the office of Academic Affairs and as approved by the Faculty Development Committee.

SR-06-07-23 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE CHANGES in the COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS: CD 430, DTS 201, DTS 202, DTS 301, DTS  302, DTS 310, DTS 320, DTS 403, DTS 409, DTS 469, DTS 470, DTS 476, NUR 223.
SR-06-07-24 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed COURSE DELETIONS in the following colleges and/or schools: COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS: DTS 304, DTS 478  and the COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: CHM 362, MTH 422.
SR-06-07-25 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed CURRICULUM ACTION REQUESTS from the following colleges and/or schools: COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: Addition of a Major and a Minor in Japanese and the COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: Change in name of major code SB30 from Environmental Biology to Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; addition of a minor within the Computer & Information Technology Major (SI20) called Game Development; addition of an area of emphasis called Game Development within Computer & Information Technology.
SR-06-07-26 BAPC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate undertake the study of a re-envisioning of Marshall University's General  Education based on the goals articulated by President Kopp along with research on integrative educational models. To do so, we recommend the formation of an ad hoc committee called "Core Foundations," drawing on volunteers from the following three standing committees: Academic Planning, Budget & Academic Policy, and Curriculum, There being an equal number of votes from each academic unit.
SR-06-07-27 FECRAHC Approved Recommends changes to Section 2 of the MU Board of Governor's Policy, No. AA-22, Annual Evaluation of Faculty, pages 1 and 2 which pertain to the Planning Pages of the faculty's Annual Report Form.
SR-06-07-28 FECRAHC Approved by the Faculty Senate; Disapproved by the University President with comments Recommends that in order to be eligible for a merit increase, a faculty member must submit a complete Annual Report on the authorized form, except in extenuating circumstances as approved by the office of Academic Affairs.
SR-06-07-29 FECRAHC Approved Recommends that annually, 5% will be reserved from the money set aside from the equity pool for special consideration by the Provost in consultation with the Deans to address true salary inequities based on their knowledge of specific situations. Any unused monies will go back into the equity pool.
SR-06-07-30 EC Returned to Committee Recommends that each faculty member must be notified of his/her OCR score at least two weeks before being submitted to the office of Academic Affairs.
SR-06-07-31 IS Resolution Approved by the Faculty Senate; read by the University President Resolves that the Marshall University Board of Governors, in the interest of faculty governance, rescind Amendment 3.1 to Policy AA-7 regarding exceptions to salary increases for tenured and tenure-track faculty.
