SR-12-13-01 UFC Approved CONFIDENTIAL Recommends that the following nominees be considered for commencement speaker and/or recipient of an honorary degree and be added to the perpetual list. The committee recognizes that, if more appropriate, the university president has the option to choose another candidate.
SR-12-13-02 LA Approved Resolves that the Faculty Senate endorses the proposal to send to the Governor of West Virginia requesting Marshall University be exempt of the budget reduction for the year 2012-2013.
SR-12-13-03 LA Approved Resolves that the Marshall University through Faculty Senate endorses the West Virginia Advisory Council of Faculty 2012-2013 Issues platform from the ACF.
SR-12-13-04 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE ADDITIONS in the following colleges and/or schools/programs. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: IST 150, 261, 454, 457, 461, 462, 467, PS 220 and HONORS COLLEGE: HON 488.
SR-12-13-05 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE CHANGES in the following colleges and/or schools/programs. COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: ANT 362, 465 and CJ 406 and COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: IST 160, 447 and 463.
SR-12-13-06 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE in the following colleges and/or schools/programs. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: Addition of Major: BS in Digital Forensics & Information Assurance; and COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS: Addition of Major: BS in Biomechanics - Huntington Campus.

SR-12-13-08 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE ADDITONS in the following colleges and/or schools/programs. COLLEGE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING: CS 400. COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: ENG 150, 151, and 160, HIST 218, 330, 450, 451 and 452, LAT 251 and 252, PSC 535. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: PHY 435.
SR-12-13-09 BAPC Approved Recommends that the University adopt the Academic Calendar 2013-2014 and the Academic Calendar 2014-2015. On file in the Faculty Senate office.

Recommends approval of the Recommendation for Revision of Core Domains and adoption of the MU Degree Profile.
SR-12-13-18 CC Approved Recommends approval of the listed LC40. Revising the the program to consist of fewer hours (from 39 to 36), fewer required hours (from 21 to 12), more elective hours (from 18 to 24), and no emphasis areas.
SR-12-13-20 PFPC Approved Recommends approval of the campus wide Tobacco Free Policy.

Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE ADDITIONS in the following colleges and/or schools/programs. College of Education: Add area of emphasis in Physical Ed and Health Pre K-adult; College of Health Professions: Area's of emphasis will fall under the BA Biomechanics: Biomechanics Pre-Medical, Physics, Pre-Physical Therapy, and Safety; COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: add designations to ANT 371 and ENG 430. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: Add area of emphasis in Mathematics (SM10): Mathematical Statistics and Mathematics (SM30) Mathematical Statistics.

SR-12-13-22 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE CHANGES in the following colleges/schools and/or programs. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS: FIN 475: add INTL course designation. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION: Change area of emphasis for English 5 - Adult Area of Emphasis (A0E). COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: Add INTL to JPN 240, 335, 401, 402, and 490. Change Course Title and Course Description: SPN 240 to Hispanic Culture (CT). Add CT, INTL and Core II (Humanities) designation to existing catalog description. SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATIONS: Change Course Title & Description: JMC 245 to INTRO TO STRATEGIC COMM.
SR-12-13-23 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE DELETIONS in the following colleges/schools and/or programs. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION: Area of Emphasis in Secondary Education (ES00). COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS: ANT 475. COLLEGE OF SCIENCE: AoE (SM40 and SM41).

SR-12-13-25 EC Approved Resolves that Faculty Senate Bylaw #14 of ARTICLE IX of the Constitution of the Marshall University Faculty be amended to reflect the following changes: (editorial note: name to be determined before July 1, 2013 for the new college formed from the combination of the old College of Education and the old Graduate School of Education and Professional Development), the College of Arts and Media, the College of Health Professions, the College of Information Technology & Engineering, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science, the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy and the Marshall University Libraries.
SR-12-13-28 BAPC Approved Recommends to the Faculty Executive Committee, Faculty Senate and the Faculty Senate Chair that the university allows ROTC students priority scheduling status.
SR-12-13-29 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves the COURSE DELETIONS in the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Fine Arts. ART 403 and 405.
SR-12-13-30 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves the COURSE ADDITIONS in the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Information Technology, College of Health Professions, College of Liberal Arts, College of Fine Arts, and the College of Science: CS 105, 110H and 205. HP 110, 210, 320, 420, MI 212, 312, 313, 314, 315, 316, 317, 318, 319. 415, 416, 417, 419, 420, 421, 422, and 424. ART 464. JPN 245, 250, 407, and PSC 466. CHM 361H.
SR-12-13-31 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves the ADDTITIONS OF TWO AREAS OF EMPHASIS, ADDITION OF ONE MINOR, AND ADDITION OF ONE CERTIFICATE in the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Health Professions: Add General Sonography and add Cardiovascular Sonography as two Area of Emphasis. Add one minor of Exercise Science. Add one Certificate Program of Athletic Coaching.
SR-12-13-32 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE CHANGES on the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Business, College of Fine Arts, College of Information Technology, College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Health Professions: ACC 215, ART 101, 214, 215, 217, 218, 219, 419, 420, 421, 422, MUS 301, 305, 306, 307, 376, and THE 255. Curriculum change for BHS adding/moving courses. Curriculum changes for BS in CD. Curriculum changed for BS in Athletic Training. Changes to ESS 218, HS 212, 222, 255, 360, 361 460 and 490.
SR-12-13-33 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE DELETIONS on the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Education and the College of Science: ECE 202 and 203; MTH 325.
SR-12-13-34 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE ADDITIONS on the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Business: MGT 370, 380, 458; MIS 360, 460, 476. College of Education: ITL 403. College of Health Professions: ESS 386,450; PEL 118, 119, 175; PH 220, 240, 305, 350, 380, 420, 430; and RSP 308. College of Infomation Technology & Engineering: CS 402, and 405. College of Liberal Arts: ANT 472, HIST 447, and INT 499. College of Science: MTH 140H and 425.
SR-12-13-35 CC Approved

Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE ADDITIONS, DELETIONS OR CHANGES IN AREA OF EMPHASIS and CHANGE OF MAJOR OR MINOR on the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Education: Change Area of Emphasis Elementary & Secondary Education - General Science 5 - Adult & General Sciences 5-9; Addition of Area of Emphasis: Secondary Education - Japanese Pre K-Adult. RBA: Add Geography as an option to declare as an area of specialization; College of Information Technology and Engineering: Addition of text in a minor: Computer Science; College of Liberal Arts: Change of Area of Emphasis: BS in Geography and International Affairs; and College of Health Professions: Change of Major: Exercise Science and Public Health; Addition of Minors: Public Health and Health & Wellness; and Changes in Minors: Sports Management and Occupational Safety & Health and Safety Technology.

SR-12-13-37 BAPC Approved Recommneds changes outlined in a revised version in the MU Code of Conduct (Student Handbook).
SR-12-13-38 BAPC Approved Recommneds changes in the Mid-Term Grade notification policy. The recommendation is to extend the D and F mid-term grade notification to include both Freshmen and Sophmores.
SR-12-13-40 CC Approved Recommends that the Faculty Senate approves COURSE CHANGES on the following colleges and/or schools/programs: College of Education: ATE 301 and ECE 201. College of Health Professions: HP 200, 250, 400, PH 201, 301, 440, AND 457; College of Infomation Technology & Engineering: CS 210, 215, 350 AND 400. College of Liberal Arts: GEO 201 and 203and College of Science: IST 111, 130, 448, MTH 098,121B 412 and 413.
