As one of the newest programs at Marshall University, we have great plans and exciting ideas for developing the understanding and insights of Sexuality Studies on campus and in the community.  We have a committed faculty, energized students, and interested members of the community at large. Unfortunately, despite all this hard work, we need some help to reach our goals – our ideas outstrip our means.  We could use your contribution.  There are two ways you can help.

Contributions to our operating budget are quite welcome, and will go to support the many events we sponsor on campus, as well as acquire some of the resources we need that are not currently available in the library system.  To contribute to our general fund, make out a check to The MU Foundation and write “Sexuality Studies” on the memo-line.  Mail the check  (made out the Marshall University Foundation) to:

Marshall University Foundation, Inc
519 John Marshall Dr.
Huntington, WV 25703

Sexuality Studies could also use your help for special, specific, one-time gifts that will go directly to students or back into the community.  Want to contribute something in your name that will be used immediately? You can sponsor one (or all!) of the following:

  • a student’s attendance at the Stand for Women conference April 2013 ($25/ea)
  • a paper prize for best paper on a Sexuality Studies topic written in an academic year
  • a paper prize for best paper on a Sexuality Studies topic delivered at the College of Liberal Arts Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference ($250)
  • the reception after one of our events ($300)
  • travel money for students to deliver a paper at a regional or national conference ($500)
  • Sponsor a public screening of a movie that is too small or specialized to come to Huntington ($500)
  • a lecture from a border-state university scholar ($500)
  • a lecture from a national scholar ($1000)
  • a one-time scholarship ($1000-2000)

Sponsor one of these one-time gifts, please make your check out to the MUFoundation, write “Sexuality Studies” on the subject line, and attach it to a note that says for what specific item(s) you are donating.  Send the check to:

Marshall University Foundation, Inc
519 John Marshall Dr.
Huntington, WV 25703

Also, please drop us a line at sexualitystudies@marshall.edu letting us know that you did, and I’ll keep an eye out for your gift.

Thank you, and Go Herd!

Sincerely,

Shawn
