Adam Fridley is serving as the current Senate President Pro Tempore for the Marshall University Student Government Association. This year will mark his third year with SGA, serving as the Secretary of Freshman Council his Freshman year, and a Senator from COLA during his sophomore year. Adam is a Senior, Political Science/Economics Major and a Member of the Marshall University Honors College. He is the current Secretary for the Marshall University Chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honorary. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key International Honors Society, and has been on the Deans list through each of his four semesters in college. Adam has had the privilege of working with the West Virginia State Senate during the 2011 Regular Session and the West Virginia Attorney General’s Appellate Division. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Adam intends to go to law school and pursue a concentration in Government/Public Policy.

Senator Jay Roudebush II | Parliamentarian

Jay Roudebush II has a long history of community leadership. From his leadership positions in the West Virginia Young Democrats Jay has fought to protect Appalachian industry, as well as Appalachian values in various regional, state, and national forums. Serving on the Marshall University Student Government Organization Jay is in his second term as senator. He chaired the Constitution Committee overseeing the overall of the student constitution in 2011, and currently serves as the Parliamentarian/Judicial Chair. Jay is the President of the Marshall University Young Democrats, Third District Director for WVYD, and is currently a member of the Cabell County Democrat Executive Committee.

Senator Dustin Murphy | Sargent at Arms

Dustin Murphy, a junior, is a College of Education Senator with the specification in History Education. He has been a senator for two years within the College of Education and is the Sergeant at Arms this year within the Senate. Dustin is an Iraqi War Veteran who graduated from Wayne High School in 2004. Dustin is also an active member in other groups like being the President of the Marshall University Libertarians, the Secretary of the Marshall University Marksmanship Club, and a member of Vets for Vets.

Senator Hannah McCargish | Historian

Hannah McCargish is a Senior Secondary Education major from Beckley, WV. Her emphasis of study is in Social Studies and she would most enjoy teaching 8th grade West Virginia History or 12th grade Civics. She has been a Senator for the College of Education for the past year and is SGA’s current Historian. Hannah is a member of the Marshall University Young Democrats, where she is involved in volunteering at the local and state levels within the Democratic Party. In her free time, she most enjoys being with her friends and doing craft projects.
