Karen L. Simpkins (Anthropology)

received her Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh in 1976, her M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1969, and her B.A in Sociology from the American University of Beirut in 1966. Her research specialty is belief and thought and linguistic anthropology, and her ethnographic areas are Appalachia, Scottish borders, Lebanese Levant, and Bali.
