ADVERTISING | This major will prepare students to create advertisements, media buys, and complete campaigns. The advertising sequence trains students for agency work. Students will learn how to publicize product and services for companies and organizations by utilizing skills in creativity.

BROADCAST JOURNALISM | Majoring in broadcast journalism will prepare students to report, produce, write, and edit news stories suitable for radio and television. Students gain hands-on experience by producing the campus television news program, MU Report, or by reporting for the campus radio station, WMUL-FM.

ONLINE JOURNALISM | Online journalism students learn to write, edit, and design news in multiple media formats, concentrating on the Internet. This major prepares students by teaching Web publishing, Web design, and visual imaging. These skills will benefit students no matter what area of journalism they enter as a career.

PRINT JOURNALISM | Majoring in print journalism will prepare students for newspaper and magazine work, although the skills learned will be a benefit in any writing intensive field. Students learn writing, reporting, editing, designing and layout, and photography skills. They then use those skills and gain hands-on experience by working for the campus newspaper, The Parthenon.

PUBLIC RELATIONS | Students in the public relations major learn how to prepare media releases, publications, speeches, and create campaigns. This major is for students who are interested in managing and counseling companies and organizations and building and improving relationships.

RADIO-TELEVISION PRODUCTION & MANAGEMENT | This major is for students who are interested in radio and television operations. Students learn production, programming, and sales and management techniques. Hands-on experiences are also available by working with our student media, namely WMUL-FM and MU Report.
