Mr. William M. Buckley born 1/9/1892 and died 2/23/1983 at the age of 91 was interviewed twice. He possessed a wealth of information. The second interview was made to re-confirm material in the first interview. His father John was a Greenbrier River pilot who help guide the arks of logs down river from as far up as Cass to Ronceverte. He died April 26, 1954 at the age of 92. His accounts of work at the Pocohontas Supply Company gave a good view of how the logging camps were supplied and the skills of Robert Hickman the stores manager. A brief account of Buckleys’ family background appears at the beginning of the transcript as referenced. |
