William Miles Evans born 6/16/13 and died 10/15/91 age 78.  Fish Culturist at the Edray hatchery.  Wife: Maude Trainer Evans.  Mother: Mary McCormick.

Mr. Evans has been included in this account because of his close knowledge of the logging operations in Pocahontas County and  because of his long tenure with the State of West Virginia’s Department of Natural Resources.

What struck me about Mr. Evans was the dedication to his job and the general welfare of the county’s economic development.  His accounts of the early trout stocking programs were interesting.  Perhaps you will learn from them.  The hatchery still exists and is visited by hundreds each year. It continues to supply hundreds of trout each year to the streams of West Virginia.
