Search Special Collections

There is no “one way” to search through all of the materials located within the Special Collections Department. We have begun using Marshall Digital Scholar as a host to our finding aids and digitized collections to improve searching capabilities of our Manuscript and Archival collections. However, not everything is indexed, inventoried, or has complete finding aids. If you cannot find what you are looking for or need additional help contact our department:

How to Search Manuscript / Archival Materials

Finding aids to manuscript materials covering a wide range of subjects reflecting historical events, business, education, arts, and sciences can be searched, viewed and downloaded.

Archival inventories and indexes are included but many of the the university’s archival collections do not have inventories or finding aids online. This list provides an overview of the university archives record groups, size and dates.

Additional inventories exist of materials covering a wide range of subjects reflecting historical events, business, education, arts, and sciences in the Huntington and regional area. The majority of these additional items have been accumulated over time but do not fit neatly into the definition of a manuscript collection, such as maps, vertical files, and rare books.
