to shape students' values and to prepare students for an engaged citizenship, leadership
and community participation after college, all essential things in democratic society.
- Service Learning helps with community education and
contributes thousands of hours of service to people in need, non-profit agencies,
private sector companies, non-governmental and governmental agencies, hopefully
alleviating poverty and making the community a better place to live in.
- Establishing a partnership with the university ensures
that self-identified community needs will be met, and a long term partnership provides
for a sustainable sources of assistance for years to come.
