About Sorority Recruitment
Your Fall Recruitment Experience
For many of you, sorority recruitment will be your first taste of college life. It will acquaint you not only with the women you meet but will offer a glimpse into the structure of Marshall University, service opportunities in the Huntington community and Greek life as a whole. For all of you, it should be an experience you approach with open-mindedness and the intention of making new friends.
Panhellenic recruitment is a process through which sorority chapters collectively recruit new members by offering interested students the opportunity to meet the members of all individual chapters and understand the dynamics of sorority life. It has proven to be the most efficient and effective way for interested students and sorority members to get the know each other in a short period of time.
Through a series of events, students will learn the heritage, philanthropic work and personal interests of Marshall Sororities and their members. At the end of this period, the women have the opportunity to evaluate their experiences and gauge their interest levels in sorority life.
Marshall Panhellenic exercises methods of mutual selection in its recruitment process. Sororities select new members based on specific criteria listed in the following sections, and interested women choose the sorority based on their own personal criteria.
Dress to Impress?
Panhellenic does not require women participating in sorority recruitment to dress a certain way. Choose outfits that make you feel comfortable and allow you to maintain a presentable appearance.
