Student Affairs' Activities & Programs Set and Communicate High Expectations for Learning

Long Range Goals: Achievement Timelines:

Communicate high expectations for out of classroom learning that is consistent with and complementary to the academic achievement (John Marshall Plan).

Working Objectives: Timelines:

Create constant and consistent ways to refine expectations and standards through the involvement of students. This would include the creation of a student standards committee and the distribution of a document which outlines expectations for behavior and civic development.

Student Affairs activities must always stress its complimentary role to academic programs and services. on-going
Continue highlighting programs like Who's Who and Leader Scholar Awards which reward high expectations. 1 year
Development and distribution of the principles of John Marshall to the campus community. This would enhance the development and transmission of campus community values and standards. 3 years
Assessment:  
Student Affairs should assess what the institution is communicating to students in the way of expectations.  
Priority Action Plan:
Expectations and performance are linked. Student Affairs will create and nurture environments for setting and achieving high expectations for students' behavior and learning.
