MU Energy Seminar

As part of our Green Lecture Series, Marshall University will be hosting an energy seminar in BE5 of the MU Memorial Student Center on Friday, March 31st, from 9am-1pm, in cooperation with Aetna Integrated Services, The Marshall University Lewis College of Business, and the Marshall University Sustainability Department. Presenters will include: the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), ASHRAE, WVa Electric Supply, and the U.S. Green Building Council of West Virginia. Area energy partners will also host information booths during the event.

Students, staff, faculty, members of the community, business owners, and area professionals are all invited to attend.

SUBJECT: Announcing – the MU Energy Seminar, March 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Continental breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. prior to the opening remarks by Dr. Michael Nowak. Additionally, light snacks will be served at 10:15. Water, coffee, and tea will be available in the meeting rooms for refreshment. MU Sustainability Department will be providing reusable mugs for each attendee. We ask that you please use these and be mindful of your trash for the enjoyment of all the attendees.

NETL breakout session topics will include: West Virginia Energy Resources, Global Energy Outlook, The Business of Energy, and Research to Reality. In BE5, breakout sessions will be hosted by: ASHRAE on “The Global Push to Near Net Zero Buildings”, the U.S. Green Building Council of West Virginia on “The LEEDv4 Approach to Energy”, and WVa Electric Supply Company on “Changes for Indoor and Outdoor Lighting.”

The opening welcome & closing remarks, vendors, guest displays, and the NETL University & Graduate Education booth will be located in in BE5.

Professional Certificate Credits will be available.
