Dance Minor

All Marshall University students are encouraged to participate in our dance courses.  These classes are offered at all levels from beginner to advance in a variety of dance forms including ballet, jazz, modern and tap.

The Dance Minor has three goals:

  • To provide regular academic opportunities for all Marshall Students interested in Dance. These opportunities may be formalized as a Dance Minor.
  • To provide a regular movement and dance program for theatre majors in support of the performance classes.
  • To support the Marshall Contemporary Dance Company, and annual dance concert.

Students enrolling in the Dance Minor must fill out an advisement folder to be left in the Theatre Department Office. Students should regularly update their contact information contained in the folder.  Interested students are strongly encouraged to declare the minor in the first semester of their participation in the program.

Dance students looking for assistance with advisement or other academic issues should make an appointment to meet with the Theatre Program Director.
