Fall and Spring Semester Tutoring Hours
Monday through Thursday: 9AM to 8PM
Friday: 9AM to 5PM.
Summer Tutoring Hours
Monday through Friday: 9AM to 5PM.
Peer tutors are Marshall University students who have demonstrated expertise in the subject area(s) they tutor. You may request an individual tutor or take advantage of the drop-in tutoring available. There is no limit on the number of hours you can work with a drop-in tutor. Those wishing to be tutored should also refer to our Student Expectations Section. The current schedules can be obtained in the University College office, or from the links below:
Individual tutors will meet with you one-on-one via scheduled meeting times, while drop-in tutors are available daily (as listed on the drop-in schedules) in University College. As a Marshall student, you may received up to two free hours of individual tutoring a week per subject, for up to two subjects.
Need an individual tutor?
To sign up for an individual tutor, stop by University College, or print out the online Tutor Request Form (requires Adobe Acrobat, 10KB) and return it to University College. If you have not heard from the office staff within one week of submitting your application, please call 304-696-6622.
Want to be a tutor?
If you have a sincere desire to help other students, consider applying for a tutoring position with University College. To become a tutor you must:
The pay scale for tutors is $6.55/hour for undergraduate students and $7.55/hour for graduate students. Stop by University College for details. you can also print the online Application for Peer Tutoring Form (requires Adobe Acrobat, 18KB) and bring it by University College, along with a current, unofficial transcript. Once your application and transcript have been received, and references have been requested and received, University College will put your application on file. When, or if, openings become available, you will be contacted for an interview.
