Adkins, IT Consultant Senior, Information Technology, has been named the
Marshall University Employee of the Month for December, 2010, according to
Michelle Brown Douglas, chair of the Employee of the Month Committee.
He was nominated by Barry Dickerson and Sharlee Henry of the Honors College.
In his nomination Dickerson wrote, “We needed help setting up a network connection and other technology in a room in our office…Ryan was very helpful and informative. We likely would not have followed through with adding the technology in the room without his helpful advice. He has also proved himself to be very patient and helpful in past situations.”
Henry writes that Adkins consistently answers many of her computer questions and has solved numerous PC problems or glitches that she has experienced. “He has always responded to me in a professional manner with a pleasant and patient attitude…He goes beyond the call for repair and explains to me exactly what happened and how he chose to enable it once again.”
She notes that “Ryan has offered computer instruction classes (after working hours) which have been beneficial to me. His idea for these classes sprang from general problems employees have experienced with their computers and his giving-back attitude to supply employees with basic computer information.”
And she continues, “Ryan is an employee of excellence because of his knowledge of computers…He goes another step further by offering online instructions which he has created for us. Ryan completes all necessary and helpful work in a timely manner as well. He has assisted several employees in our Honors College and we continually appreciate his work!”
was presented with a plaque and a check for $100 by President Stephen J. Kopp.
