IMPORTANT: E-mail Anti-Spam Service Changes

On Friday, January 11th, 2008, Marshall University Computing Services will begin the automatic enrollment of ALL campus e-mail accounts into this anti-spam service. Details of the service and how it you can personalize it to effectively eliminate junk-email from your Marshall e-mail account are found on the UCS website https://www.marshall.edu/ucs/systems/antispam.asp

Spam is a term commonly used to refer to unsolicited bulk e-mail messages. Spam poses numerous problems for Marshall University’s e-mail systems and you, our clients. To help combat the e-mail spam problem, University Computing Services (UCS) acquired a new e-mail anti-spam service early last year. We refer to this service as the ‘MUNet Spam Firewall’. A number of campus clients have been using the advanced features of this service, called a quarantine inbox, but up until this time activation of those features has been a manual process for those in our early adopter test group.

We understand that some of our e-mail customers may have questions or perhaps encounter issues which our early adopter group have not experienced. We ask that you first review the ‘frequently asked questions’ (FAQ) section of the UCS Help Desk web page https://www.marshall.edu/ucs/CS/helpdesk/helpdesk-email.asp . If you do not find the answer you are looking for, then please feel free to contact one of our customer service staff for additional assistance, the contact info is listed below:
