Q. How do I set-up Outlook Express (PC)
A. Open Outlook Express.
Choose
Tools and Accounts

Click the Mail tab then click the Add button and choose Mail.

Type your name in the box and click Next

Type your e-mail address in the box and click Next

Choose
whether you want your mail to be configured IMAP or POP3.
(IMAP
can be accessed
through web mail on any computer you have
access to, where as POP3 stores your messages to your
hard drive making them accessible on your computer only.)
Type:
imap.marshall.edu
as the incoming
mail server if you choose IMAP or
pop.marshall.edu
if you choose POP3.
The Outgoing Mail server is:smtp.marshall.edu.
Click Next.

Enter your MUNet username and password. It is important that
your username only appear in the Account name box DO NOT put @marshall.edu
at the end!

Click Finish.

Select the account you just created and click the Properties
Button.

Go to the Advanced Tab and change the Outgoing Mail Port to
587.
Check the SSL
box.

Go to the Servers Tab and make sure the Outgoing Mail Server is
smtp.marshall.edu and check the box beside My server requires
authentication. Click the Settings button.

Select “Log
on using” enter your
MUNet user name and password and
Click OK.

Then Click Apply and OK.
