Q. How do I Access my voicemail box?
A. From the Huntington campus, Joan C Edwards School of Medicine at
Cabell Huntington Hospital, Medical Education Building (Spring Valley), and
the Robert C Byrd Institute (1050 4th Ave), dial 66245. From the Marshall
University Graduate College in South Charleston, dial 62099.
Q. How do I change the name recorded in my mailbox?
A. Dial into AUDIX 66245 and from the activity menu, select 5. (5 will
not be mentioned as an option). From the next set of options, select 5 again
to record your name.
Q. Can I get my messages from any location or do I need to be at my
extension on campus?
A. You can get messages from any touch-tone phone. Dial into the
AUDIX system, 696-6245 when you are off-campus and follow the prompts.
For the MUGC AUDIX system, dial 746-2099.
Q. What does “Contact your system administrator” mean”?
A. This means your voice mailbox has been locked and you
need to call the University Computing Services Help Desk at 63200, and put
in a request to have your voice mailbox reset. A voice mailbox is locked
when someone tries to access the system more than 3 times with the wrong
password.
Q. What does option #1 “To Record Messages” really do”?
A. This option is often mistaken as the one to use to record a
greeting. What it really does is “Send” a message through the voicemail
system to one or more people without actually ringing their phone. You can
also send a message to yourself as a reminder of an appointment.
Q. Can I retrieve a voicemail message I deleted?
A. If you have listened to a message and accidentally pressed *D (or
*3) to delete it, you can undelete it only if your press **U (or **8)
immediately after the *D command. Otherwise it cannot be retrieved.
Q. What if I forget my password?
A. If you forget your password or experience problems with your
voicemail, call ext 63200.
