Office Telephone Services
The
Marshall University PBX is one of the most flexible systems on the market
today. It has the capacity to serve the entire university system and the
ability to customize each telephone set to best meet departmental needs. The
phone system allows five-digit dialing between the Huntington Campus, the
Joan C Edwards School of Medicine at Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Medical
Education Building (Spring Valley), the Robert C Byrd Institute (1050 4th
Ave) and the Graduate College in South Charleston. Marshall University
offices are equipped with state-of-the-art telephones. Callers are able to
dial directly to any user, bypassing an operator and saving time for both
the caller and the called party. Telephone installation and move requests
are to be directed to the University Information Technology Service Desk at (304) 696-3200.

Voice Mail Services
Intuity Audix(AUDIX) is a complete call answering and voice mail system.
AUDIX answers your calls when you are unavailable or too busy to answer your
phone. If you do not answer your phone, the call is forwarded to AUDIX,
where a personal greeting is played giving the caller the opportunity to
leave a message. Each user has a private "voice mailbox" on the system that
matches their extension number. The box is set up with a password and a
greeting which may be personalized and may tell the calling party their
schedule. Callers can then leave messages in your voice "mailbox." Later, at
a time convenient to you, you can access your mailbox to get those messages.
AUDIX also lets you leave messages in the voice mailboxes of other AUDIX
users when they don't answer their phones. AUDIX also lets you record
messages in advance and send them directly to the voice mailboxes of other
AUDIX users-without actually calling their phones. Conversely, other users
can record and send voice mail messages directly to your mailbox. Should you
have problems with AUDIX, please call the University Information Technology Service
Desk at (304) 696-3200.
