The staff of the Systems Administration Group is responsible for the server and storage infrastructure for the Marshall University Network (MUnet). Computer servers and their storage arrays are key elements that support the variety of campus technology services including e-mail, University and personal WWW pages, institutional and departmental databases, any many other file and print application services.

The Systems Administration group handles the acquisition, installation, operation, monitoring, security and maintenance of over 120 servers located across 2 campuses and 5 regional learning centers.

The primary University datacenter is located on the Huntington campus in the Drinko Library. We also manage additional remote server and storage hardware that is both located at and provides services for the MU Graduate College South Charleston campus, the Mid-Ohio Valley Center in Pt. Pleasant, and numerous distributed learning sites throughout the state.

The staff of the Systems group welcomes the challenge of doing our part to support the Computing Services mission which is to “provide and facilitate quality computing, networking and information systems” through the administration of the University IT resources.
