Under what circumstances may I send a mass e-mail?
It is an violation of the Marshall University Electronic Mail Policy to send unauthorized mass e-mail messages. (NOTE: Where is the policy that states when it is appropriate to send as a mass e-mail?) Official University communication approved by the President, Vice President, Dean or Division Head levels as well as any necessary messages sent by the the e-mail administrator to inform or alert campus account holders of situations that will impact the availability, security or on-going operations of the e-mail system.

Mass E-mail Delivery Methods
(UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Need to point out differences between Exchange & Hobbit servers. There is no 'all employees' list because not every employee has an Exchange mailbox. Student messages are delivered via the myMU portal. Targeted announcements via myMU are PREFERRED.)

Formatting a Mass E-mail
(UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Explain why file attachments, embedded graphics and highly-formatted HTML messages are not a best-practice when sending mass e-mail. Also list example of 'tag line' to be applied to all mass e-mail listing the invidual & department who requested the mass e-mail as well as contact info - phone and e-mail address - to address questions or comments.)

Contact information for assistance in scheduling a mass e-mail
(UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Do we create an automated delivery process, or do we require the message to be sent to one of several employees who will be authorized senders? Who do they contact for myMU targeted announcements? Perhaps a webpage to let them self-format the message and submit to myMU admin for posting - or just instructions to send an e-mail to a specific person/group to assist in the posting.)
