Humanism in Medicine Week continues through Friday

The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) will mark Humanism in Medicine week and Solidarity Day with several activities highlighting the importance of preserving the tradition of the caring, compassionate physician.

The week’s activities include distribution of Compassionate Patient Care buttons to health care providers and an information booth in the lobby of the MU Medical Center on Thursday, Feb. 14.

In addition, an assembly is planned for noon, Friday, Feb. 15, in the Harless Auditorium in the medical center, where more than a dozen physicians will share brief stories from their careers that have helped them understand the importance of compassion in patient care.
