Childhood Obesity Conference takes place next week

Everyone is invited to join  the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine for its inaugural Childhood Obesity Conference, Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, Grand Ballroom.

This free event features keynote speaker Jeffrey M. Friedman, M.D., Ph.D., discoverer of the obesity gene, leptin, as well as presentations from School of Medicine researchers and clinicians.

An afternoon panel discussion with leaders from the scientific, public policy and community sectors is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
