Employed since May 2001, he was nominated by Homer Preece, director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Center and Dr. David Pittenger, Interim Associate Vice President for Outreach and Continuing Studies and Dean of the Graduate College.
In the nomination, Preece wrote, “Mr. Hill has been outstanding in his responsibilities to the Mid-Ohio Valley Center. Don inherited our center and his knowledge of facility maintenance is remarkable. During our recent crisis with water damage, due to a broken pipe, Don has given guidance on what to do and how to do things to minimize damage to MOVC. He has taken the lead in working with outside agencies, insurance claims, and many other items too numerous to mention…this is only a small part of what he does for MOVC.”
And, the nomination continues, “Don is a very strong supporter of MOVC. Whether it be a leaking roof, HVAC issues or lending us a carpet cleaner, he is and always has been there to lend support and guidance. MOVC does not have a maintenance person on staff and therefore we value the support of Don.
“During this latest episode with a broken water line, we were on the phone with Don about the cleanup of the water. He suggested a prioritized list of things to do and when to do them. Mr. Hill is even taking care of filing, with the appropriate parties, the insurance claim for MOVC. With all of his duties and responsibilities on the South Charleston campus, he has even found time in his busy schedule to upgrade the MOVC nursing lab with new equipment that is vital to our B.S.N. students. Mr. Donald Hill is a very dedicated Marshall University employee.”
Hill was presented with a certificate and a check for $100 by President Stephen J. Kopp.
