Fresh, student-grown vegetables available Wednesdays on Huntington campus

Fresh vegetables grown in  Marshall’s  student garden will now be available at a booth on the Memorial Student Center plaza every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Margie Phillips, manager of the Sustainability Department, said Campus Vegetable Market Days will make locally grown vegetables readily available to the Marshall community. The market will accept donations for the vegetables.

“When we first started this project, we let students, faculty and staff pick the vegetables for personal use for free, but as this project continues to grow, we want to use these market days to share not only ripe vegetables, but important information about the Student Garden and its mission on campus,” Phillips  said.

People are no longer permitted to pick from the gardens themselves, but are encouraged to check out the ripe vegetables at the market every Wednesday.

In the event of rain, the market booth will be located inside the Memorial Student Center.
