Edwards Distinguished Professor of the Arts to visit Marshall

The  School of Music and Theatre will host a series of presentations, master classes and performances in April to feature Dr. Brigid Burke, the Edwards Distinguished Professor of the Arts.

Burke, a multimedia artist, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Smith Recital Hall.  The program will include new multimedia works and compositions realized by Marshall faculty members Steven Hall and Mark Zanter, with choreography/dance by Jessica Lynn Fox. The performance is free and open to the public.

Burke’s residency also will include master classes and other performances at Marshall, as well as performances at Tamarack in Beckley and at Fairmont State University in Fairmont. Burke also will provide outreach to local schools and universities.

The Joan C. Edwards Distinguished Professors in the Arts Endowment provides financial support for this program. Additional support is provided by the College of Arts and Media, the School of Music and Theatre and the School of Art and Design.
