Associate Professor of History Dr. Laura Michele Diener, who is also director of the women’s studies program, was featured in an article in the website “The Green in Hygiene.” The story is about a donation by Linda Pace, president of Workplace Essentials, to the project Diener started at Marshall to make feminine hygiene products available to students at no charge.
“All young girls deserve the opportunity to further their education. We are hoping this small gesture will help eliminate one stressor from the day-to-day challenges these young women face, so they are able to focus on their academic goals,” Pace said in the article on the website.
On Sept. 29, Workplace Essentials responded to the initiative by shipping a donation to the Huntington campus.
“We see this as a great opportunity to kick-start their drive by sending a bulk amount of sanitary products, which we hope will impact this worthy cause,” Pace said.
