WMUL-FM is recruiting volunteers for Fall 2015

The beginning of the fall semester is right around the corner, and that means that it is time for activities around WMUL-FM to get back into full swing. That can’t happen without a group of dedicated and hard-working volunteers.

Fall 2015 WMUL-FM New & Vet Meeting FlyerTo find those volunteers, WMUL-FM will be present during Week of Welcome, August 18-22, hoping to show incoming freshmen the benefits of being involved in college radio. In addition to Week of Welcome, WMUL-FM hopes to visit over 100 classes across many colleges on campus, with the hope of finding a diverse group of volunteers who can bring their own unique talents and abilities into the Communications Building. Volunteers from the Tri-State community are also welcome, regardless of whether or not they are students at Marshall.

“The greatest thing about what we do at WMUL is that it doesn’t matter what major you might be or if you’re even a student at all,” WMUL-FM Executive Director Adam Rogers said. “Anybody can volunteer their time to be part of any one of our staffs. We had close to different 30 majors represented in our volunteers alone last semester.”

Volunteers can be involved in a number of different ways at the radio station, both on-air and off-the-air. Staffs at WMUL-FM include News, Sports, Production, Music and Promotions. Beyond working with those staffs, opportunities exist for people with interest in graphic design, web development and photography.

People interested in joining the staff at WMUL-FM should attend one of the meetings listed in the image above, visit the radio station itself in room 204 of the Communications Building, or fill out the online volunteer form by clicking here or clicking on “Volunteer” in the menu bar above.
