WMUL-FM Prepares for First Football Broadcast of 2015

Share

HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA – As the Marshall Football team readies itself to welcome the Purdue Boilermakers into Joan C. Edwards Stadium for Sunday afternoon’s home opener, WMUL-FM is hard at work as well preparing for its first football broadcast of 2015.

Sports Director James Collier said broadcasting football games is something the station and the sports staff takes immense pride in.

“We understand that not many Division I college student stations get the opportunity to broadcast football live, so we really stick a feather in our cap about being able to call these games,” Collier said. “When a big-name team comes to town, we ratchet up the intensity on the broadcast and doubly make sure we are as prepared as possible for whatever could happen.”

The game broadcast will feature Collier as the play-by-play commentator and Adam Rogers as the color commentator, along with Andrew Harrison and Braxton Crisp patrolling the sidelines.

Prior to game kickoff at 3:00 p.m. eastern, the broadcast day will begin at noon with an edition of Aircheck, WMUL’s public affairs program. This edition of Aircheck discusses the in’s and out’s of banking with Lee Powell, President of DESCO Federal Credit Union and Geoff Sheils, President of First Sentry Bank. The Conference USA Report: Stranded Edition airs at 12:30 and will take a look at all the games involving C-USA teams this week. Then at 1:00 is the Marshall Football Season in Review, recapping last season from the season opener at Miami (OH) all the way to the final whistle of the Boca Raton Bowl. At 1:45, the FM 88 Sports team previews the 2015 Thundering Herd football season. Finally at 2:00, the WMUL Pregame Show begins and will take you all the way up to kickoff against the first Big Ten team to play in Huntington.

After the game, stick around for the WMUL Postgame Show, where we’ll have postgame analysis and an interview with head coach Doc Holliday.
