In My Own Words

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Marshall, I’m back to earn my Masters in Journalism. In my four years in Huntington, I have called Marshall games, reported heavily on a variety of topics and gotten myself knee deep in the art of production. I love radio and hope to make a career out of it as a play-by-play announcer. Now, I have the honor of being the student leader of this station for the next year. My work at WMUL has taken me far. I have been named Reporter, Sportscaster and Radio Journalist of the Year for W.Va. by the Associated Press, an Abe Voron Scholar by the Broadcast Education Association (twice), the 2nd best reporter in the nation by the gran'daddy of all news reporting competitions, the Hearst Awards and the nation’s top collegiate sportscaster with STAA’s Jim Nantz Award. I've done a lot, but there is so much left to do – which hopefully includes seeing more MULers pick up Hearst and Jim Nantz Awards during my tenure.

Away from the station, well, who am I kidding, I don't spend any time away from the station. Well, in the few hours that I am away from the Cutting Edge, I enjoy collecting and watching James Bond movies and playing the occasional video game when time allows. But most of the time, you’ll find me senselessly prepping for whatever game I may be calling in the given week. I love a good steak and/or a stuffed chicken breast. Plus, I’ll kill for a delectable flavored tea. You will find no one who naturally eats faster than me. Go Herd.

I love radio, and hope to make a career about out of it as a play by play announcer. Now, I have the honor of being the student leader of this station and the Voice of Marshall Women's Basketball for one more year.
