In My Own Words

I joined the WMUL promotions staff in the spring of my freshman year and I fell in love with the station. Everyone here was incredibly helpful and fun to be around and soon I found myself doing as much with the promotions staff as possible. I got to do a lot of amazing experience in my first semester at the station. I got to do things from throwing basketballs out at games to helping out with Hair from the Herd.

I look back and I am sad that I chose to wait till my second semester to join. The people I’ve met are some of the most amazing people working the station. Being from 5 hours away from home I knew no one when I first came here and the radio station has really helped me meet new people and feel a part of something. If I could go back I would join my first semester instead of waiting to join.

WMUL has helped me to meet some of my best friends and taught me so much. I have had the privilege of being able to be a news anchor, and to be able to plan Hair from the Herd and collect the second largest hair donation to date. I owe this to my staff that quickly became like family to me. WMUL has also provided me some wonderful mentors to help me along my way and given me so much help.
