Workshop Physics was first developed and taught Priscilla Laws and her colleagues at Dickinson College, Carlisle, P.A. The motivation for adopting this method of teaching is that there is evidence that traditional instruction, teaching by telling, does not help students think critically, understand difficult concepts, or develop reasoning skills. Workshop Physics abandons the traditional instructional format in favor of an activity based, computer-enhanced workshop in which students learn through direct observation of natural phenomena. You can learn more about Workshop Physics by searching the Dickinson College home page or by clicking the above button for additional references on physics instruction.
