Electives
Students are required to take a minimum of four hours of electives in areas agreed upon by their advisory committees. One of the strengths of the Cancer Biology research cluster is that it allows students to specialize according to their individual interests. Students have the opportunity to select from a wide variety of electives. For example, students in the cluster may have primary interests in infectious causes of cancer, or in altered communication pathways, or in epigenetic mechanisms in cancer.
The following are examples of courses that Cancer Biology graduate students have taken to support their training. Please consult the graduate catalog for a complete listing of all possible electives.
