Health Insurance Information

Marshall University requires all international students (on F-1 and J-1 visas) to have health insurance while studying at Marshall University. Insurance will protect you against the very high medical costs in the U.S.A.

We recommend the following insurance plan which is designed especially for international students (on F-1 visas) while studying in the USA. You can apply for the health insurance plan AFTER you arrive in the U.S.A.

The policy we are recommending covers visits to the doctor’s office, medicine, hospitalization, surgery, ambulance care, X-rays and laboratory tests. This policy does not cover dental work or eye examinations and glasses. You should get glasses or contact lenses before you go to the U.S.A.

In the case of INTO-Marshall University students, the INTO Marshall University Student Health Insurance Plan is automatically added to the invoices of all INTO Marshall students.*

*INTO-Marshall University Sponsored-students, please note: If your sponsor’s health insurance coverage is known to meet the waiver requirements, you will not be charged.
