Duties:
The successful candidate is expected to continue their pursuit of external funding to support research to promote the dissemination of new information and the improvement of the forensic sciences. The position requires a knowledge and/or experience in the following areas analytical techniques, instrumentation, data interpretation, ethics and professional values, court testimony, evidence handling, logic, principles and concepts of forensic science applications, scientific method, method validation, evolution of the discipline, accepted standards and practices, results and conclusions, process analysis, QU/QC, report writing, case management, and knowledge of instrumentation to include elemental analysis, spectrometry, and chromatography, all as they relate to forensic science and/or forensic chemistry. The successful candidate shall teach courses in the forensic chemistry curriculum while ensuring their applicability to the program's mission, goals, and objectives. Research in the area of chemical analysis of trace evidence is preferred. This individual will assist in teaching in the Forensic Chemistry sector of the FEPAC-accredited graduate program. The successful candidate will teach selected courses*, assist in developing curricula, advise and mentor students, as well as serve on university and program-related committees. Qualifications:
Board certified in Neurology and either have, or be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of West Virginia. The ideal candidate(s) will be active clinicians and should have a strong academic record as a mentor and teacher.
