The mission of Physical Plant at Marshall University is to effectively and efficiently provide maintenance and operational services that support the faculty, staff and students. One of the main goals of the Physical Plant is to create a campus environment that welcomes visitors, enhances the living and learning experience, and promotes a positive image; therefore creating and managing the campus environment in support of the mission of Marshall University.

Requesting Routine or Non-Emergency Work
Requesting service from the Physical Plant Department is as easy as picking up the phone, clicking on a Webpage, sending an e-mail or fax. The Work Control Office receives emergency, routine work and maintenance requests Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. These are prioritized and sent to the appropriate staff within the Physical Plant. For routine or non-emergency requests, a Work Order must be initiated. Customers may do this by either submitting an Online Work-Order Request or phoning the Physical Plant at 304-696-6681.
Requesting Emergency Work
Emergency requests affecting life, health or safety, will be dispatched immediately, for emergencies please call 696-6681 between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.If after hours please notify the Marshall University Public Safety Department at 304-696-4357. In both cases please provide the following information: Specific detail of the repair or concern; exact location including building name and room number; contact person name (and the contact person’s campus address, phone and e-mail).
