Jonathan David Austin is a junior here at Marshall University. He is a dedicated student of the College of Business in which Jon is an Accounting major, wherein he has a 3.86 Cumulative GPA and also a 4x Dean’s List recipient.  Jon has the passionate desire to graduate in this field and strive towards being a Certified Public Accountant in his near future with all hopes of establishing his own Accounting Firm. Jon is steadily involved in various organizations within his educational institution. Since his freshman year Jon has been a proud member of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars Honor Society here at Marshall University. Recently he was inducted into our institutions’ Student Government Association as the Diversity Affairs Liaison. Also, Jon recently has become a member of the prominent Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., wherewith he holds the position of Chapter Vice President and also the position of Assistant District Director for the state of West Virginia. Jon strongly believes in the idea of helping the community and serving the people of the community. He hasbeen involved in several voluntary community service projects such as March of Dimes, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Park Renovations, and Community Outreach Services at his church (Church of God Militant Pillar Ground of Truth). Jon says he is a young and educated student who stands by the idea that “Education is key and knowledge is power”.
