10/29/2009 - Marshall School of Medicine (AMA Chapter) will be sponsoring a blood drive along with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, November 3rd and Wednesday, November 4th at the Campus Christian Center on 5th Ave (right next to the student center.) The drive will run from 11am - 5pm both days. Please come out and donate blood if you are able - one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives. 
 
We now have the added convenience of being able to sign up to donate online. You will receive a confirmation email and can make changes at any time. As always, it is perfectly fine to come the day of, but appointments will get first preference. The whole process should take about 45 minutes-1hr.
 
Schedule an Appointment To Donate:
 
1. visit www.givelife.org
2. type in "25701" under zip code
3. scroll down to the Nov 3 and 4 event at the CAMPUS CHRISTIAN CENTER (**Be sure to choose campus christian center Nov.3 as there is another event listed at the Huntington Donor Center)
4. Appointments to donate are available every 15 minutes from 11:00 - 5:00. When you click on "schedule" on the R you will be prompted to create a username and pw - very simple - and then you will be redirected to the schedule to choose the time slot again. 
5. After scheduling an appointment you will receive an email confirmation, and can can cancel/change at any time!
 
*** IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE BEING A "DOUBLE RED DONOR" OR ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS PLEASE INDICATE SO ON THE SIGN UP SHEET OR LET ERIN HARE KNOW BY EMAIL - hare5@marshall.edu. IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST WE CAN GET THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT OVER TO THE CHRISTIAN CENTER. (Basically give twice as many red cells and get all your platelets and plasma returned to your body and feel more hydrated - smaller needle and 2x the hero factor...consider it!)
