Home > Computing > Joining the Official MU Web Server

Thank you for your interest in the Marshall University web server. Using the World-Wide Web, your campus department or organization can provide information to the campus community, and other computer users across the globe.

Who can participate?
Marshall University academic and administrative units, research centers, and officially recognized organizations are all eligible to provide information on the official Marshall University web server.

Each unit must designate a Marshall University Faculty or Staff member, known as an overseer, to act as their contact on matters related to the content published to the MU web site.

How do I get started?
In order to publish to the official Marshall University web server, you must first fill out an Information Provider's Agreement. This agreement can be downloaded online or picked up at the main desk of Computing Services on the 4th floor of Drinko Library. Once you have filled out and signed the agreement return it to Computing Services.

I've submitted an Agreement, now what?
In a few days, you will receive an email message from webmaster@marshall.edu stating that a web site has been created for your department or organization. Included in this message will be instructions on publishing content to the web site, granting and revoking access to edit the site, and changing the site's E-mail distribution.

Questions about joining the official Marshall University web server should be directed to webmaster@marshall.edu.
