The Marshall University Web Server provides a means of distributing information via electronic publishing. Some of the advantages of using the Web Server include:
Marshall University academic & administrative units, research centers, and officially recognized organizations are all eligible to provide information on the Marshall University Web Server.
Each unit must designate a Marshall University Faculty or Staff member, known as an overseer, to act as their contact on matters related to the information being provided via the Marshall University Web Server.
The Information Providers Agreement must be completed and signed before information can be published via the Marshall University Web Server. Please print, fill-out, sign, and return it to Computing Services, 4th floor, John Deaver Drinko Library. A copy of the Agreement can also be obtained from the receptionist at Computing Services.
You should follow the instructions provided with in this email message to grant access (to your shared disk) to the users (including yourself if necessary) that will become Information Providers for your department or organization.
A special World-Wide Web URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and an electronic mail address will also be established for your department or organization. For example, the Computing Services has been assigned the following URL:
http://www.marshall.edu/computing/
and the following departmental electronic mail address:
computing@marshall.edu
