First Things First
As a new student, you may feel overwhelmed trying to adjust to University
life. Finding your way around campus and learning all of the policies
can seem a bit confusing at first. Don't worry. The University sponsors
several programs designed to introduce you to the activities and services
available to you at Marshall.
Orientation
http://www.marshall.edu/orientation/
Orientation is a one-day program in June, July and August that all new
students are expected to attend. The Orientation program is designed
to answer any questions you may have and let you explore the campus.
More importantly, the Orientation program allows you to sit down with
an advisor, plan your Fall schedule and then register for classes.
UNI 101: New Student Seminar
http://www.marshall.edu/uni101/
UNI 101 is a class taught by Marshall faculty/staff members for incoming
students and transfer students. Lasting either 8 or 16 weeks, UNI 101
helps students plan out a career while learning everything from research
skills to computer literacy. Some UNI 101 classes are college specific (ie College of Business students, College of Science students). Each fall special interest sections are also offered (ie adult student issues, African American student issues, outdoor adventures).
ID Card
http://www.marshall.edu/campusid/
All students must get a campus ID from the ID Office. The campus ID is
used for several functions including library services, the points plus
plan and as a mealcard in the residence halls.Your first ID card is free.
Replacement cards cost $10. The ID Office is located in the basement
of the Memorial Student Center room BW31 and is open from 8:00am - 4:30pm
Monday through Friday.
Payment of Fees
http://www.marshall.edu/bursar/
Tuition fees for a regular semester, a Summer Term, an Intersession,
and any special class are due and payable to the Office of the Bursar.
Due
dates for payments are listed in the Schedule of Courses. You can pay
fees by VISA, MasterCard or logging on to myMU. Payments are also accepted
at the Office of the Bursar in Old Main room 101. It is always your responsibility
to know when enrollment
fees are due and to pay them by that time. Do not depend on receiving
a bill from the university in the mail.
Welcome Center
http://www.marshall.edu/admissions/welcome-center.html

offers tours of the campus and the opportunity to sit in on a class and
