Process of Compiling the Report

The committee used various methods to generate dialogue and gather information. Focus groups were formed from campus and community leaders. Special meetings of the Faculty Senate, Staff Council and Student Government took place during the month of February. Each academic unit on campus conducted meetings and/or gathered survey material to generate information for this report. Two outside consultants were utilized to examine the areas of compensation and library technology. The focus groups were:

  1. The Legal Community
  2. The Medical Community
  3. Alumni Executive Board
  4. Engineering Community
  5. Graduate Education
  6. The Athletic Committee and the Athletic Advisory Board
  7. Marshall Commission on Multi-Culturalism
  8. Business and Civic Leaders

Specific issues of undergraduate education were addressed by the individual academic unit meetings. Each of the consultants met with various campus constituencies.
