Qualifications

The Society of Yeager Scholars is looking for outstanding students -- young people with personal qualities that make them stand out from their contemporaries. In particular, the Society wants to recruit and enroll students who demonstrate the following:

• A superior record of academic achievement in high school as shown by grades and scores on standardized tests. A minimum composite on the ACT of 28, or a minimum of 1260 on the SAT (Math and Critical Reading).
• Active participation in extra-curricular activities and community activities.
• Leadership ability or potential that has been demonstrated both within and outside the classroom.
• Energy to complete tasks, maturity, and self-discipline.
• Creativity and intellectual curiosity.

The foregoing are minimum requirements for application to the Society of Yeager Scholars. If you feel you have the qualifications to join this elite and prestigious Society, Marshall University would welcome your application.

Application Deadline

IMPORTANT: The deadline for applications is December 1st of each year for the class which will matriculate the following fall semester. Only current high school students are eligible to apply. All materials, including test scores and reference letters, must be postmarked by December 1st. There are no extensions. Please note that you must submit a separate application for admission to Marshall University.
