The NUtorious NU NU Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded by 13 strong, intelligent, black men who believed in the goals and ambitions of the 7 founding fathers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. NU NU Chapter was chartered at Marshall University on May 16, 1978 in an effort to bring a shining light to the African-American student population. In '96 and '97, the present brothers of NU NU have continued to uphold this shining light through our activities and programs on campus and throughout the community

Over the past year the brothers have been extremely enthusiastic and
have represented ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY, INC. to the best of our abilities
through such programs as our Each One, Teach One tutoring service. This
program was designed by NU NU chapter in association with The Academic Affairs
Program in order to try and increase the awareness of male minority students
on the importance of scholarship. The brothers took young men to the library
for study sessions and provided tutors to
accompany the students
when needed. West Virginia Black Americans Conference was a symposium on
campus that provided the keynote speaker Bro. Tony Brown, NU NU chapter
was very active in this symposium, from passing out pamphlets
to
introducing speakers throughout the day. The Tri-State Organizing Conference
was an opportunity for NU NU to get involved in a large scale organizing
conference. NU NU facilitated several seminars and through our efforts the
conference was the most highly attended in its four year history.
