SPRINGFEST 1997 was the biggest in years. Kicking off the week was "The Verve Pipe." The emerging alternative band gave a great concert at the Huntington Civic Arena. Featured songs included "The Freshman," "Drive You Mild," and "Cup of Tea." The encore was a great rendition of Elton John's "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." "Thin Lizzard Dawn" was the opening act.

On Tuesday, there was a picnic in Buskirk Field. Interactive games such as Bungie Run, Velcro Jumping, Jousting, Bouncie Boxing and Human Fooze Ball in Buskirk Field was fun for all. "Virtual Reality Machines" visited campus for the students to participate and experience. Danny McCarthy performed in the Student Center Cafeteria during lunch. Fun Flicks and Fun Photos were back. Everyone had so much fun last semester that we brought them back for another round. The week was capped off by the Leadership Awards Banquet on Friday for outstanding campus leaders.
