Dorm Life....

A Unique Experience

By J.S. Bragg

Life in the dorms at Marshall University can be a unique experience. Some enjoy the experience, while others hate it and can't wait to move out and get an apartment of their own.

One of the things you have to live with no matter which dorm you live in is roommates. Sometimes you get lucky with the draw and get a good roommate, and other times you end up with an unbearable one. The one thing you need to learn is to not get a friend as a roommate. It will hurt your friendship. Save your friendship! Get a stranger and just visit your friend.

Dorms are a great place to meet people. Many of the friends you make for your college career will be people you met while living in your dorm. You will make life long friends in the dorm, and study partners as well.

Another thing you have to live with in dorms is the relentless string of pranks played on people in the dorms. From penny locks to stealing the clothes in the shower, pranks are all over the place, as is the trash in the hall.

Living in a dorm can be enjoyable, but you have to make it that way. You will meet lots of people, and make lots of friends. You have to make your college life fun, no matter what.
