Stephney Riley was crowned the 1996 Homecoming Queen. Stephney is from North Fork, West Virginia. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Students Government, National Association of Black Journalists, Black United Students, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Stephney was escorted by Edward Thomas.

 

Jennifer Hesson was named as the Senior Attendant. Jennifer, escorted by her father, George Hesson, is from Point Pleasant WV. She is an active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Order of Omega, Habitat for Humanity, Student Council for Exceptional Children, College Republicans, PROWL, RHA, Color Guard, and is on the University Speech Team.

 

Kim Layne, escorted by her brother Scott, was named the Junior Attendant. Kim is from Huntington and is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

 

Ms. Kristi James, of Bridgeport, WV, was presented by Derek Anderson. The Sophomore Attendant is a member of Black United Students, Student Government, Peer Mentoring Program, and is a Resident Assistant.

 

Escorted by her father, John Protan, Heather Rae Protan was the Freshman Attendant. Heather is from South Charleston, WV and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

 

The 1996 Graduate Attendant was Crystal S. Smith from Kenova, WV. Crystal is in the MBA Association, Graduate Student Council, American Marketing Association, and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She is escorted by Ryan Flanigan.

 

Nawar Shora was named the 1996 Mr. Marshall. Nawar is from Huntington. Nawar is active in many campus organizations including President of the Student Government Association, Pi Sigma Alpha, Gamma Beta Phi, and the Multicultural Awareness Organization. Nawar was escorted by the lovely Beverly Milam.
